Masks

Scrupulously made with recovered leaves, dried, dead, fallen plants or rotting, decaying  flowers, the masks I create look like molts, mummies or shamanistic items.

Even though I make them in France with local materials,  they may evoke different cultures I met while travelling around the world : Papua New Guinea, East Africa, Indonesia, Madagascar…

They remain from obscure rituals or transformations of the human being … Poetic and tragic, they talk about the time of death, of a representation of the soul or a camouflage …

They came from the forests, the mountains, the oceans and return back to the earth, to the memory …
